School Vision for Dodworth St John the Baptist Primary Academy

At Dodworth St John the Baptist Primary Academy, we are proud to be part of a school with deep roots in history and at the heart of the Dodworth community. We aim to inspire families and children to share in this pride, knowing that by attending our school, they are part of something meaningful and special.

Our Vision – Preparing for Life’s Big Adventures

At Dodworth St John the Baptist Primary Academy, we prepare our pupils for the adventures life brings. By fostering respect, curiosity, and teamwork, we aim to nurture individuals who will contribute positively to their community and the wider world.

Together, we build a legacy of pride, purpose, and possibility for the future.

Our vision is rooted in the Christian principles of guiding kindness, honesty, and unity, (Mark 1:3: “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him” from John, who pointed the way), to embrace learning and life in all its fullness (John 10:10). This is encapsulated in what we call The Dodworth Pledge:

Our Values in Action

We are kind and honest:

  • We are warm and welcoming to all.
  • We always tell the truth and act with integrity.
  • We help those in need and strive to make others happy.

We learn about life in all its fullness:

  • We embrace the joy of discovering new things.
  • We listen attentively and respect others’ perspectives.
  • We are resilient, ask questions, and actively seek new knowledge.

We work, play, and live as a team:

  • We respect our surroundings and everyone within them.
  • We help one another achieve our best potential.
  • We support each other through challenges and successes.
  • We celebrate and embrace each other’s uniqueness.

These visions and values aim to create a nurturing environment where everyone flourishes—spiritually, academically, and socially—and is prepared to make a positive impact on the global community. Through enriching educational and spiritual experiences, we inspire every member of our community to grow, succeed, and enjoy life in its fullness.
