Welcome to Year 3 and 4
In Years 3 and 4, pupils continue to develop their skills and understanding through an exciting and ambitious curriculum. Teaching builds on the foundations of Key Stage 1, encouraging pupils to become more independent learners who enjoy exploring new ideas and challenges. Throughout Lower Key Stage 2, pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and responsibility. By the end of Year 4, pupils are well prepared for the increasing demands of Upper Key Stage 2 and continue their learning with enthusiasm and independence.
Year 3 & 4 Long Term Plan
Our Long Term Plan shows how the curriculum is taught and organised across the year for the Year 3 & 4 class. As a mixed age class, learning is planned over two cycles, known as Year A and Year B, to ensure full coverage of the curriculum for all children. We are currently following the Year A cycle.
Curriculum Overviews
The curriculum overviews below show what children in Year 3 and Year 4 are learning each half term. They outline the key areas of learning taught in class and help parents and carers understand how knowledge and skills are developed over time.
