Ofsted
High standards across every area
Ofsted’s inspection on 9th and 10th September 2026 recognised clear improvements at Dodworth St John the Baptist’s CE Primary Academy and confirmed that our school meets the high national standards for education and care across every area evaluated.
The school achieved the Expected standard in all seven areas, and safeguarding standards are met.
We are proud that inspectors recognised our pupils’ happiness and sense of belonging, the positive start children make in early years, and the effective support that helps pupils with additional needs take a full part in school life. These findings reflect the commitment of our staff and the partnership between school and families.

What inspectors found
“Relationships between staff and pupils are grounded in praise and mutual respect.”
“Children are happy, safe and enjoy their learning.”
Ofsted, September 2026
Inspectors recognised that pupils achieve well across a broad curriculum and are well prepared for their next steps. They highlighted the positive start children make in early years, effective support for pupils with additional needs, and the opportunities pupils have through clubs, community events and leadership roles.
The report also recognises clear improvements brought about by leaders and the positive relationships between the school, families and the local community.
Continuing to improve
We are building on this progress. Our next steps are to strengthen how teaching responds to pupils’ different ages and learning needs, and to sustain improvements in achievement so that pupils continue to attain highly in national tests over time.
